What does a modern website for a construction company look like? For Balbachan GmbH, a family-run construction company for renovation, facades and interior finishing in Hamburg and northern Germany, we redesigned the website: modern design, a video in the first screen, clearly structured services, real reference projects and an enquiry form that matches the rest of the page. Built with WordPress, so the team can manage the content themselves.
The project at a glance
- Client: Balbachan GmbH, construction company from Hamburg
- Industry: renovation, facade renovation, interior finishing, waterproofing and full refurbishment
- Region: Hamburg and northern Germany
- Task: make the existing website more modern and premium
- What Jul Design delivered: custom web design, content structure, animations including a hero video, WordPress build
- Website: balbachan-gmbh.de
The starting point
Balbachan carries out small and large construction projects for private, commercial and public clients – according to its own website, with more than 20 years of experience. The previous website no longer felt up to date. The goal was a presence that shows the quality of the work at first glance and is easy to manage.
What a website for construction companies needs to do
People looking for a construction firm are often planning a major investment. They want to know quickly: does this company do exactly what I need? Does it work in my region? Are there real references? And what is the easiest way to get in touch? That led to four priorities:
- A strong first impression: name, services and region visible immediately.
- Services clearly structured: six areas instead of one long list.
- References as proof: real projects with trades and location.
- A short path to an enquiry: form, phone and contact details in one place.
First impression: a hero video
Instead of a static photo, a calm video plays in the first screen. On top sit the name, the core services – renovation, facade renovation and interior finishing in Hamburg and northern Germany – and the “request a consultation” button. Four glass tiles lead straight to the key services: facade renovation, interior finishing, balcony waterproofing and full refurbishment.

Services at a glance instead of a wall of text
The range of services is broad – from facades and thermal insulation to interior finishing and drywall, bathrooms, medical practice fit-outs and full refurbishment. On the website it is organised into six numbered areas, each with a photo and a short description, so every visitor finds their area quickly.

Reference projects that build trust
For a construction company, nothing convinces like finished work. That is why every reference project has its own card with a photo, trades and location – from a dental practice in Lüneburg and a town villa in Hamburg-Harvestehude to an office building in Bremen’s Überseestadt. The structure is designed so new projects can be added at any time.

From interest to enquiry
At the end of the page comes the project enquiry: a short form, a button to call directly, and the address, phone and email next to it. The design carries through to here – one consistent visual experience right up to the contact request. On smartphones, everything stays easy to read and use.

Why WordPress?
For this project we combined custom design with a stable, flexible WordPress solution. The website is easy to manage and built so that new services, projects and content can be added at any time – without needing an agency every time.
Technology with a sense of proportion
Even in the age of AI, one thing matters to me: technology should not be used for its own sake. Animation and video are not an end in themselves here – they show the quality of the work. Businesses need solutions that look good, work reliably and can grow with them over the long term.
Conclusion
An ageing website has become a modern presence that matches the company’s standards: premium, clearly structured and easy to maintain. Many thanks to Balbachan GmbH for their trust and the great collaboration.
